GMA pallets are the recognized industry standard for wood pallets used to transport food, beverages and many other products, but are all GMA pallets alike?

The answer is no. Although GMA pallets meet structural specifications for size,  construction and load-bearing capability, there can be significant variation in the condition of GMA pallets, which impacts the price that one pays for them as well as the price one would receive when selling them.

Fortunately, manufacturers, distributors and retailers in NE Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia have a source they can rely on for the GMA pallets they need.

TCP, based in Akron, Ohio, provides comprehensive pallet management services, including buying and selling used wood pallets. The company offers five grades of GMA pallets - Grade AAA pallets, Grade AA pallets, Grade A pallets, Grade B1 pallets and Grade B pallets - ensuring customers that their products will be transported safely and as cost efficiently as possible.

As wood pallets get reused many times, eventual damage will occur. TCP visually inspects all incoming pallets and assigns them one of five GMA pallet grades. Where possible, damaged pallets are repaired. Those that are beyond repair are recycled into mulch, that TCP sells to local landscaping firms.

As part of its consultative process with customers, TCP can help determine the most appropriate grade of GMA pallets should be used for a specific application, based on need and budget. Additionally, the company can design and build custom-sized pallets, to meet specialized requirements.
